We have visited this restaurant before and are never disappointed. There is always a warm welcome from the hosts. There is a good menu with plenty of choice. A very nice amuse bouche always preceded the main course. The main course is nicely presented and...well cooked. Then there’s a good choice of deserts. Always nice to come to this restaurant
We happened to spot this Auberge on the way home' from Auch while on holiday near Masseube. We were unfashionably early at around PM as the French, of course, do not arrive before Coming up the drive to what seemed to be an...ordinary house, we barely managed to work out where to park as we were the first to arrive and there were no signs. It turned out anywhere was fine really. We were warmly greeted in the garden by a French lady, who was picking fresh fruit from the trees. Next we were ushered inside, having established this was indeed a restaurant, we had parked in the right spot and so forth. The place itself had a lot of old charm and we were joined by the ladies husband who was equally friendly. We decided to have dinner outside and the menu did not disappoint. Not the usual plethora of dishes, but a decent selection which was obviously very French and of high quality. The soup of the day turned out to be anything we wanted. Having taken advice, we went for the mushroom soup, which was formidable'. It was followed by Belgian beef which was equally impressive and the desserts were a treat too. The rose on the menu was probably the best I have had in years. Another surprise was that the owner was actually Dutch and had been in France for over years. So it was nice to speak to a compatriot. Anyway, we could not recommend this place enough, great hosts, amazing food and a lovely ambiance,
So again I visited this restaurant after years and the quality, hospitality and welcome was again second to none. We had a family meal which was amazing along with reasonable pricing and three courses each generating a lot of positive conversation. Minimal waiting as...we booked in advance. Very friendly and cannot wait to go again in the future!
We went for a really nice meal with my wife's sister and brother-in-law. There was a very warm welcome from the hosts. The food was heavenly including a really nice amuse-bouche. It was a truly enjoyable evening and a very nice meal. Highly recommended
It's my fourth summer coming to the Province of Gers, a lovely region in South of France, and during each trip we drop by our favorite restaurant. About from the Mirande Square, this little gem is located on road The small sign might...be easy to miss for first-time visitors, so slow down when approaching the address. The menu consists of delectable, regional specialties freshly made with wholesome ingredients. All is home-made. The foei gras is a fragrant, silky delight. The magret de canard (duck breast) is tender and juicy. The vanilla bean crème brûlée is rich and smooth, with the thin crispy top flambeed to perfection. I love the sound my spoon makes as I gently crack the roof. On a warm sunny day, I enjoy the view of the garden under the shade of the trees. I usually order the fruit punch, also home-made. On rainy days, I prefer eating on the veranda or on the cozy indoor dinning room, with beautiful paintings.
