Prices are low, but also the quality of food. I set the menu. The mixed meat plate was okay, but not great. I fought with the meat, but a nice piece of pâté the main course was a steak with pepper sauce. The chips and sauce were great, but the steak was very hard. The server ensured that we had a plentiful supply of beautiful bread. The wine pots were very good and of great quality.
Working here For a week, here for 4 nights. Nice food and set menus of 11 €13 were of great value. Would definitely recommend
Discover this place last year and came back, prices not changed! 11 13 Euro-Set menus great value and good quality. Staff very friendly and helpful, local customers most friendly. After you were a few times, you feel like it's your...local. Great place to chill and watch people.
I have to say a huge thank you to Vincent and all the staff who made us so very welcome with their friendly manner and good food. I would have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful Cafe bar to anyone staying in this area of...Paris. The food is simple, well prepared and tasty which makes eating here a real pleasure. Some dishes are basic and traditional and others really unusual to the tourist, try the Andolouett sausage it's quite an experience. Finally just to say that this place is a real gem, please go and be welcomed by Vincent and the staff and before you leave you must try a Paris drink Vodka caramel shot. You won't be disappointed.
Café de l’Avenir is a gem of a place! Great food, great staff, great prices. We had numerous meals and drinks at Café de l’Avenir between March 26th and April 5th, 2014, because we were renting an apartment just up the street. Every time, without...exception, the food was excellent, drinks were great, and the waitstaff were, like most of the Parisians we met, friendly, warm and helpful. (In fact, that whole myth about Parisians being cold or snobby is nonsense—I’m from Newfoundland, the province with the friendliest people in Canada, and I found Parisians friendly and helpful everywhere we went. After just a couple of visits all the staff knew and remembered us, and one of them, Vincent, looked after us like we were part of his family. One Friday lunch hour, we wanted their daily special (couscous with merguez), only to be told it was sold out already. We had really been looking forward to it and were disappointed, but ordered something else. A few minutes later, one of the staff came out (we were sitting at one of the lovely little tables outside) and said the chef had offered to make it again that night especially for us, if we wanted to come back for supper! So we did, and it was fabulous. It was a very kind gesture on their part, and is a perfect example of how this is a great restaurant with a great staff that really cares about their customers. On our last day we made a point of going to see them to say goodbye, and gave them a photo of an iceberg from here in Newfoundland. Later that day they texted us a shot of it on the wall of the restaurant next to their menu! If you are in the area, go to this café. It’s fabulous.
