Hickory Hut - Saint Paul

Today the experience was no good. Half Bucket of Rib Tips and it was very hard to chew. You can see in the picture the Rib Tips are very dry. The sauce was very little considering the amount of Rib Tips and I even order an extra small one. I don?t knowwhat happened but this was my favorite BBQ. Don?t be cheap in your sauce and have fresh Rib Tips. This is no good! Time to lookfor other alternatives?

Really nice staff and some better than average food, but nothing really to write home about. Fresh but the flavor isn?t outstanding, prices are ok

I hadn 't been here in years, it used to be 5 stars, but moving to 3 stars. The wings were missing the delicious dredge of seasoning, and were really just fried chicken wings. Sides still delicious, but I 'm not as excited as I used to be to make a 30min drive for the food. Probably won 't be on my list of must-haves anymore.

I've been driving by this place for a couple of years and had the thought that it looks like one of those spectacular hole in the wall Barbecue joints. It's just so-so. What's good is that the portions are ample. I ordered the 1/4 Chicken, dark meat andthey gave me 2 whole legs and thighs. The Mild sauce was okay, not great. They gave me a lot of fries, but they weren't fullycooked and had way too much salt. The Cole Slaw was runny. It didn't taste bad, but it was just unappealing. The service wasvery good. The inside was very clean and the A/C was good on a hot day. My romantic notions were dashed. But despite myunrealistic expectations, I won't return.

Regulars know Tuesdays Thursdays are the days to dine here for the best deal. They have specials on 12 or 24 piece buckets on those days which will save you serious !<br/ <br/ The rib tips are another exceptional menu option, especially the great value you get when ordering them by the half/full bucket with the sauce already on them--you can feed an army with a full bucket! BBQ sauces are of the thick, sweet variety but the hot has decent heat and great flavor. Get an extra cup of the BBQ sauce to dip your Hojo potatoes in!!<br/ <br/ Just a heads up--no bathroom here...<br/ <br/ I highly recommend you try Hickory Hut--you will be hooked!
