Fantastic local gem! It's an ideal place for a late-night snack, and the prices are very reasonable. The Macho Nachos are impressive—plenty to satisfy 2-3 hungry people!
My husband and I used to visit Tampa every week, and we always made sure to stop by this restaurant. Our favorite dish was the crushed jerker chicken, and we loved the cheese dip as well...
We ordered a chicken quesadilla, a steak burrito, and two tacos for $2 each, along with two fountain drinks. I appreciated that refills for the drinks were included, even though I didn't see a sign indicating that. The food was quite good and made fresh to order, but I felt that the selection of toppings was somewhat limited. For example, there was no lettuce for the tacos and no black olives for the burrito. On the plus side, the staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean. There are a couple of tables on the sidewalk outside, but one was occupied by customers from a nearby pizza place. Keep in mind that the sidewalk has a slight slope toward the street, which might feel a bit off if you're sitting with your back to the road. However, that might be a safer option for women with handbags to avoid theft while dining. The salsa served was tasty, and they provided some chips with our meal, although you might want to add a little salt to them. Lastly, I was pleased to find they offer plastic straws, as many places have switched to paper alternatives, which I find quite unpleasant. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would definitely recommend giving this place a try if you haven't been there yet!
The quality of customer service varies depending on who’s serving you. Some staff members are more friendly and personable than others, but it’s not like being in a theme park, so manage your expectations. The restaurant is conveniently situated near Tropicana Field and features a mural of a large gray dog with red eyes in a muscle shirt, holding a burrito. There are also TVs, perfect for catching a game while you eat. They offer a selection of Mexican soft drinks and beers as well. I would have given this place 5 stars, but the single restroom had standing water, which was concerning despite the prior warning. Nonetheless, we appreciated having access to it. Overall, we had a solid 4-star experience with our crew of 7, looking for an affordable meal. We would definitely return!
