L'Acanthe Agay - Saint-Raphaël

We ate here twice in a week (which is quite unusual for us when we're on holiday as we like to try different places). This was definitely the best food and service we experienced all week on our holiday. The waiter was great, he made sure we totally understood the menu, his English was very good and left us wanting for nothing. The chef was also very friendly and certainly knows what he is doing! Having eaten in 'fine dining' establishments in the UK - this place was great value for money in comparison! If you want a huge plate of burger and chips go down the road - if you want quality food and service and a memorable experience then head here!

What an amazing restaurant!! We were staying at cap esterel and the restaurants on the complex were terrible (putting it mildly) so we decided to venture out..... trip advisor to the rescue! All we were after was a waiter or waitress that was interested in us and the food they were serving... L'Acanthe provided both! The waiter was extremely attentive, even gave us the dishes in very good English! The menu was refined for want of a better word, I always get worried when the menu has a huge list of options! We had a fantastic starter... goats cheese in a tomato sauce (gaspachio) it was devine! We then moved on to the mains... our tastebuds wanting more! I had the ravioli Gorgonzola with a fantastic salad! My fiancé had a fillet of white fish with superbly seasoned and cooked veg! This leads me to the highlight of the night... OMGS, the caramel cake pudding was like nothing I have ever eaten before (give this chef a pay rise).I can't recommend this restaurant enough... if it had a view it could be agays no 1 restaurant!

Not that straightforward to locate even though if it's on Agay's main road, it is situated at the 'Hotel De la Plage' which can be seen from the road.That said, it's a modest restaurant BUT (capital BUT) with very tasty, fresh and self made dishes. Nothing that was ready made by those specialised supermarkets sold to restaurants in bigger cities. We had a goat cheese with a tomato coulis, a grilled tuna, mixed grilled fish with a fish soup.and finally a creme brulée flambé and a delicious same Blanche with home made chocolate.

Excellent food and great service! Reasonably priced. Will easily visit this restaurant several times. Highly recommended.

The food was insane.. We went a few days ago and are going again today!! I was really poorly the first time we went so couldn't eat it all which meant my partner was super happy about that, excited to go again.. Brilliant service as he spoke to menu in English to us and was a pleasant place to eat.
