It boasts to be a taste of Chicago, cannot say that I was enough to know, but the chicken easily remembers Harolds. Not in taste or something, but something about it. I only have the lemon pepper taste, because the other two don't call me, Lol, and it's GOOD! Comes with fresh potatoes, real potatoes, on the thick cut side. I prefer my cripple, but they're bad without them. This last visit I added to my order a piece of fried catfish and it was really good! Crunchy and well seasoned, not even needed tartaric acid. One of them could try the Gyro or a steakburger. Comments added, they are only cash, not a big deal, but not very convenient. Maybe the prices are nice. It is best to place your order in, I have ordered and in person, 15-20 seems the standard waiting period, the small lobby has only two chairs, so it would be good to order only. If you stop in or around St. Roberts, definitely it is worth a try.
Best wings Ever! Freshly cooked, whole wings for a great price, with fries. A good amount of food for the price. The gentleman said I'd be back and I sure will. Great job Callies!
Callies is an original taste of Chicago. I was born and raised near Maxwell St. in Chicago and it definitely taste and smells like home.
I stop in here about every other Friday for an Italian beef. They are fantastic and taste just like they do in Chicago! Same with the pizza puffs and the maxwell st polish. If you like Chicago food, you gotta hit this place up. The food is great, they are pretty quick and bring cash as it is cash only, but worth it!
I went here today after work to check out the menu. It's a smaller location and you do have to pay in cash. There is an atm inside if you forget to bring cash with you. It smelled great when I first walked in, which made me excited to try the food I called in for pickup. I wasn't disappointed. The customer service was good and the price was great for what I ordered. My favorite item was the Polish Chicago w/ fries. The fries and rib tips were good, we ordered a large with the links. The links were a bit over cooked, but still good. The chicken wings were good as well and had a good lemon pepper flavor. Definitely a spot I'd come back to for lunch or even dinner.
