I went to La Chronique yesterday evening for dinner This is a nice and fairly small place to eat out.
We were spending a romantic spa weekend in Piedmont and were looking for a fondue restaurant. We remembered we had been here years ago and had liked it. Gave it another try. Took the all you can eat beef Chinese fondue. It comes with a Caesar salad. On-line it advertised $23.95 pp but once in the restaurant they had changed all their prices with stickers on the menu to $28.95pp!! Not impressed. Food was good and service was friendly and attentive. My only other issue is that at similar fondue restaurants around Montreal for $25 pp you get a cheese fondue starter and chocolate fondue for dessert. We ended up taking a cheese fondue starter for $12.95 and it was my favorite part of the meal. Overall, a pleasant dining experience
This was our second time back for the hot stone meal deal. This time we took our 6 year old. A family of 4 could easily share the amount of food. You start with cheese fondue and bread, then you cook a selection of beef, chicken, shrimp, lobster, scallops and vegetables on the grill at the table. A choice of desserts finishes the meal. It's fun to cook your food and it turns out delicious. They also give you a variety of dipping sauces. My only complaint is the restaurant is dimly lit which makes it difficult to tell if your chicken is thoroughly cooked. A great family vacation experience. We've been in May and August and its never crowded.
Ah, chronicle.
