Restaurant John Le Grec II

It seems that this place is under a new management. I had heard it was good so se decided to go there. It was 2PM on a Tuesday and the restaurant was quite empty. Once in the restaurant, 12 other customers came in. The waitress seemed to have zero experience. She kept chatting with someone she knew and never brought us our soft drinks or the beer other people had ordered. It took a very long time to get our meals. I went to the restroom and in the waitress went to the booth next go mine. She did what she had to do and left, she did not was her hands…. Finally, she brought the food. The chicken souvlaki was ok, however the accompanying salad was disgusting. The lettuce was stained, at room temperature and the tomatoes were dry like if they had been on the counter for hours…. The wedge potatoes were disgusting and totally tasteless. The waitress never brought our soft drinks so I decided to pay cash right away, cancelling the drinks and leaving as soon as we can. Really. bad restaurant.

Place is obviously low staff, but we were barely served by the manager and the waiting staff. We reserved for 5 people (2adults 3 kids , arrived and a sign said to take a table. Only 2 tables for 2 people were available. so my family was standing next to the 2 tables and waited. After 5 mins of waiting I went to the counter to get some service and saw a piece of paper with my name on it, time we reserved and how many people basically they wrote it down but didn't do anything else. After I asked they setup our table and we get the menu. It took 30 min before the manager took our order, 20-30 min before we got our entree, another 20-30 min before we got our main dish, we asked for a pitcher of water so we could serve ourselves 10-15min later still no pitcher, I try to signal one of the waiting staff no one notices or glances around. I get up, ask politely to get our water pitcher. We finish eating and wait and wait and wait my wife gets up with the kids to go in the car so they can be comfortable. 10 min later the manager arrives with the check just quickly says There! and puts it out of my reach even though my hand was stretched out. She finishes up with the table next to ours, exchanges pleasantries saying she's been working here 20years and is the manager and comes back to my table. I asked her for the left overs to go and she leaves me to get the boxes and make me pay. I got a bad service so I leave no tip. I'm almost to the car and she gets out saying I left no tip. I say yeah exactly. Instead of asking why she yells at me saying on she makes 10.35/h (after 20years and as a manager? and she needs those tips, calls me an f g a hole, and that if I can't leave a tip to stay home and eat f g baloney and that she's the f g manager and I'm barred from the place (Reverse Karen much? . At this point I tell myself f k this and we leave. As I pass by the restaurant she is still yelling at us and pointing the receipt. All this in front of my kids. So yeah okay food and be prepared to be barred from the place if you leave the tip they deserve when you get poor service.

My wife and I ate here while on a couples trip, and were not disappointed. There is a wide array of food options, and the serving sizes are extremely generous. The only downside to that? The food is so delicious that you won't want to stop. We had the chicken souvlaki and I the pita chicken souvlaki; both with generous heapings of salads, rice, and potatoes that were seasons to perfection. The waiter was very busy, but extremely friendly. I'd definitely return!

Good tasty food! Very busy , short staffed but our waitress handled everything great ! Would recommend . Only thing I would add it some Greek music for added ambiance ! Would recommend this place for a nice family , couples meal.

Spent 4 nights in the area and ate here twice, that's how great it was the 1st time. Their pizza and subs were fantastic, big portions, crispy french fries, super friendly service. You won't regret your visit.
