Chalet Thai - Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue

A Thai restaurant would be better operated by Thailand natives instead of Cantonese natives... maybe they have better attitudes. The owners are not friendly, the staff is very poor in service and, don't care for you neither... this isn't a surprise as this is a family owned business as well as the staff with the exception of one white person which I gather is not family. They used to be good about 8 years ago now... I don't bother going there... for the price you pay... might as well go to an Asian buffet... because that's what the service and, food there is worth: all you can eat for 20$. The only thing good on their menu is their wine card. This place isn't kid friendly neither and, they make a point of making you feel like this. I don't understand how they are still opened considering Ste-Anne's is reknown for their restaurants. I've been there at times for lunch and, could smell the alcohol inemintaing from their waitresses mouth. For the price you pay, you'd at least expect a minimum politeness and, a smile from the staff to compensate for their otherwise lacking food that is bland !!!!!!

The food is very nicely done and has a lot of flavor. The service is good and the ambiance is nice. The patio is cozy but cool on a hot summer day. Unfortunately, it's a bit overpriced because of the location but it is still very good.

We had lunch on a cold day. The ambience is nothing (the terrace is better). We ordered and within 5 minutes our food was there! It was the chicken curry and it was very bland and could have been just any old stirfry. Did not taste any curry flavour at all. It could have done with a sprinkling of peanuts on top for some pizazz! Not inclined to rush back.

We happened in here for lunch and enjoyed some to the best Thai food anywhere. The location is easy and the staff very engaging.
