We went in specifically because my wife does not eat gluten. They had a very nice selection of gluten-free pasta, pizzas, sandwiches, and more. I enjoy regular breads and was excited to see a great offerings on the menu. The gentleman who helped us explained his cooking process and showed us the type of pasta he uses for different dishes. Definitely rare and something we could never find at home. Was very much worth the walk and we will likely be returning here before we leave Salerno.
We were two, eating fish. The restaurant hall is not bad. For the food, it was great. Not the same for the wine that was not so good.
The first bad restaurant experience in two weeks, in Italy. When we went there the restaurant was empty. But soon enough, the take away orders arrived and the sole chef was unable to cope. We waited a while for our main course and our salad came after my wife finished her mains. The house wine had gone off and they did not want to know about it. Any halfway decent restaurant would replace or refund. Anyway, a very desultory outing and let our experience be a warning!
My boyfriend and I stayed in Salerno for a week and found ourselves eating at La Bodeguita 4 times in that week. It's a nice, family owned, authentic Italian Pizzeria with plenty of pasta, fish, meat and of course pizza options. Both of us stuffed ourselves, had a glass of wine and a beer and sometimes dessert and prices ranged from 20-30 Euros (total). Extremely reasonable in price. We highly recommend it.
