Lido Colombo - SALERNO

We were a couple. We arrived early 7:30pm, and our table for two was the only unreserved table in the place so that tells you it is popular with the locals. No reservation, walk in off the street, but they found us a table. Nice start. Aqua naturel for one of us but the 1 liter bottle was way more than needed, and was swapped out on request. One young lass spoke a bit of English way more than our Italian and she was seconded to talk to us. A half litre of house white would it be ok it it was a bit fizzy? Sure. I'm guessing it was a local prosecco and it was just fine. And cheap. We decided to share two dishes, a primi mare and a primi terra, and what a good choice. Generous helpings, lovely pasta and sausage and mushroom, and pretty good rissoto with 4 big black mussels and I think about 3 dozen baby clams. Outstanding! Nice service,very basic surroundings on the waterfront, very edible and filling food, and a bill for two totalling Euros 25 pretty darned good. If you have an antipasto, a primi, a secondi and a dessert the bill might add up a bit higher, but our choices left us completely satisfied, and I am 196cm 120Kg. They seem to do a roaring takeaway trade too. It isn't gourmet, it isn't fine dining, but it is satisfying and affordable. If you want a good feed at a reasonable price, go there. If you want silver service and starched tablecloths, try elsewhere.

This was close to our hotel and we ended up coming here three times. The atmosphere is fabulous. It's right on the beach. We had amazing service from both Federica and Luigi. The pizza is delicious! I am so picky about my cold beer so they put the beer in the freezer for me. They really make you feel at home!

Went here on the recommendation of the hotel. Checked it out beforehand and were advised to book. Had a table next to the beach looking across the bay and across to the hills of Amalfi as the sun went down. Seafood antipasto was ok and the pasta and pizza we had to follow was excellent. A lot of local families soon filled the place. Lots of helpful staff speaking English and explained the menu.
