Shallots - Salida

This place has incredible food. Each taste was clear and yet mixed as a symphony of taste. Each item was cooked exactly the right amount. The owner/Koch Don, is so lovely and came to our table to discuss our meals with us. He was incredibly friendly and helpful. Like our waiter Robert. If you are looking for a place with excellent food and atmosphere, I can recommend Shallots!

A fun restaurant that's definitely worth a stop while staying in Salida! The portions are large and they put local spins on lots of recognizable classics. Be sure to try the Mexican street corn

We decided to stay in Salida after we went skiing at Monarch. Found this place had openings on open table and secured a reservation. When we got there, they didn't have it. We waited as they honored the reservation, thankfully! As we sat at the bar and waited...no one addressed us. Walked passed us many times then finally greeted us. Took drink and appetizer orders and we're sat. Had waited 40 mins for the appetizers to finally come. They were delicious. They forgot to come back and get our dinner order. Finally placed that and the meal was incredible. Would've loved to give this place all 5 stars, but the service from the individuals that weren't family that owned it stepped up. Terrible service, but amazing food! If you don't mind waiting and hit or miss service, the food was worth the wait.

Refuses service to a Combat Veteran with a legitimate service dog. Completely disgusting way to treat our military vets! Shame on you! Spread this review Farr and wide!
