The fresh spring rolls were far from fresh; they felt as though I could have used one to break a window. On the other hand, the pho was pretty good.
We have been customers of Chopsticks since they opened on Seaside. However, today was our last visit to the restaurant. Our experiences over the past couple of visits have not been satisfactory, and during our most recent visit, we arrived at 7:00 PM. They informed us that they would only serve takeout because they close at 8:00 PM.
I ordered takeout consisting of two dinners and one appetizer and was shocked to see the bill come to $32.99 when I went to pay. I had an old menu from 2021, so I expected some price increases, but this was a staggering 96% hike, and the quality has dropped significantly. I ordered the basil eggplant with vegetables, and what I received was disappointing: just one very thin slice of tomato, one small cucumber slice, a single strip of carrot, and barely enough lettuce for one bite. The clerk insisted on adding a tip, but no thank you! I don't mind paying more if I receive a quality meal, but I can't accept a 98% price increase with smaller portions. I won’t be returning. This visit was on Friday evening, June 25, at 6 PM, and the overall appearance of the place is declining rapidly.
The chicken pho was incredibly delicious! I also enjoyed the Thai tea boba, which was excellent. I would highly recommend this place over any other pho restaurant in the area.
