Papillon - Salo

Ristorante con tavoli di fronte al lago. Ci hanno dato un posto di fronte al lago anche senza che lo chiedessimo. Molto gentili. Pizza molto buona. I tagliolini al pesce di lago sono deliziosi. Torneremo!!!

Le pizze personali sono discrete ma non eccezionali, tuttavia la location sul lago di Garda è davvero ottima.

La impepata di cozze era eccezionale. Anche i primi piatti erano deliziosi.

We were looking forward to returning to the Papillon restaurant, having eaten there on previous visits to Salo, but this time were left feeling disappointed. When we arrived and shown to our table, there was only one chair at the table for the two of us and I was left standing so I had to find a chair for myself from an adjacent table that wasn't being used and brought it across. Then we had a couple of packs of breadsticks put on the table and given menus, we ordered pizzas and wine, and all seemed well. However we noted some people were given a bread basket as well as breadsticks, even before ordering so nothing to do with what meals they had chosen. Some of the tables were given linen napkins, others including us were given paper napkins, others were given condiments ie olive oil, salt and pepper, we were offered nothing, yes we could have asked but the staff seemed more intent on gathering together and talking rather than checking everything was ok. We did wonder whether it was because we were English, but a group of young Italians arrived and like us only had breadsticks and paper napkins. Really disappointing and inconsistent service, please don't treat people differently, we won't be returning to Papillon restaurant again.

I have never been disappointed with this restaurant/pizzeria. Their pizza cruncy and tasty and the vegetarian one very well presented and with unusual vegs. Also tried their Crudite' trilogy with Salmon, Seabass and Tunafish: very fresh and well presented. Highly recommended.
