With a work group we visited basilico and learned from the nearby motel staff that it was known earlier than the polar bear cafe. they have a nice place the restaurant was clean and comfortable and the nba finals game was shown on a flat-screen TV in the corner. the anesthesia of a wood stove encouraged me to order pizza: I chose the meat lovers carini. with fresh pomodoro, mozarella, pfefferoni, prosiutto, coppola, smoked ham and Italian sausages. I also ordered a bottle uinta hoodoo kölsch style ale from their quite good selection of craft beers. the pizza was a personal size, but at 10 I took the half of it. it was good, the only complaint...read more

Visiting with a work group, we walked over to Basilico, learning from the nearby motel staff that it was formerly known as the Polar Bear Cafe. They have a nice space - the restaurant was clean and comfortable and the NBA Finals game was shown on a flat screen TV in the corner. The presence of a wood-fire oven encouraged me to order pizza: I selected the Meat Lover's Carini. which features fresh pomodoro, mozarella, pepperoni, prosiutto, coppola, smoked ham and Italian sausage. I also ordered a bottle of Uinta HooDoo Kölsch Style Ale from their reasonably good-sized craft beer selection. The pizza was a personal size, but at 10", I took half of it with me. It was good, the only complaint being that for a wood-fired oven, I actually would have enjoyed a little more evidence of that - there was basically no charring on the crust. I tend to enjoy a bit more garlic on pizza, but the lack of it may well be true to the style/intent. Our server was "friendly-enough" - I'd be happy to visit again if in the area.
