Bourbon House - Salt Lake City

Service, cuisine, people, space, spot on. Felt like I jumped 100 years back in time, like it was illegal to be there. Basement, hallways, dim lit areas. The food was fantastic and arrived on time. The drinks were engineered to perfection. A little tricky to find, but once you do you don't want to leave.

Food is average bar food, which is pretty good. You'll wait a long time for it though, and prices are really high for food and drinks you can find almost anywhere. The staff and service is awful, half the time the staff working there act like customer's are a nuisance and as I said before, are extremely slow. I waited for food for over 45 minutes when the place was half full, and when I asked about it was treated with outright hostility? There are way better bars in SaltLake, this is pretty much just a basement.

On a Wednesday night, avoid this place if you have a group. We walked in at 7:30pm with a group of 10 and the place was completely empty. Let 's just say, the server started with excuses of being slammed. She left and returned 20 minutes later for drink orders. We managed to get her to take appetizer and food orders as well. Drinks were bought to the table and all placed at one end, leaving us to figure out who ordered what. Then the appetizers were bought one at a time in10 min increments followed by meals that were completely cold and some that never arrived. The server made it clear that she couldn 't find certain meals and they were running out of plates. AGAIN THE PLACE WAS EMPTY. Lastly, we had no roomto even eat because all the dishes were left on the table the entire time. As a first time visitor to Utah, I would never return here.

Drink's are good. Order Delviled eggs as app it was ehh. Ordered shrimp and grits it was good. Had good taste flavor could have used more love. My date had steak and frittes. Steak tasted like cardboard but fries were good. Probably stick to whiskey street for food and just go to burbon house for drinks. Very nice bar seems like they want to turn it into a bar and a club with good food. Club vibe and drinks were there but food not so much. Table was very sticky.

At first I loved the look and feel of the place. Me and a friend went for a quick drink we decided to get a shot each and a beer each it was decided I would pay for the beer and he the shot and he left a 20 dollar tip because I paid for parking. When we left the server ran out with us yelling that not leaving a tip was very rude and that we had gotten good service which is true but idk why she would feel it her duty to yell and demand a tip even after we had left one. Lefta very bad taste in my mouth and I don?t know if I will return.
