Melting Pot - Salt Lake City

Been to this place while I was on a Offical visit to Salt Lake City , Utah. The whole concept is unique and a great experience of having to cook the meats and vegetables in a broth .Service is great and the food is awesome not to mention the chocolate stuff that came out was mind blowing and I just could not resist my self .

We came here with friends and we had heard a lot of good things, but it didn’t quite live up to the hype. The food was pretty good and the service was fine, but we had originally been seated in a booth and for some reason had to move to a high-top table, and spending more than two hours sitting in a high chair like that really isn’t the most comfortable set up. Also, the light fixtures above our table were really dusty, and I kept worrying that some of it was going to fall in the food.  Overall not the best experience, especially not for the price. If we came back it would only be for dessert.

Love Love Love this place! It is my favorite place in the world. Go around Christmas time and buy the gift card and then they give you a gift card for the same amount. Love the 4 courses. Anyone is crazy if they don't absolutely love this place. I go here any excuse I can, like 4-6 times a year. If you want to go for a holiday go the day before and save the money or don't.

This resturant popped up as the nearest so myself and a co-worker decided to eat here. There should be a warning about how long it takes to eat here. The fist course of Gruyeir cheese was pretty gross. They give you the smallest portion of Vegys to dip into the cheese and they don't mesh at all. Next we had a salad course and it was standard and boring. Then we had the main course and I was super unimpressed. Both me and my partner had to mix our meats into the same water pot and I couldn't help but think about cross contamination and after a while the broth began to smell like a wet dog. By the time desert came I just wanted them to throw the chocolate into a Togo box so I could just go home. It took 3 hours.

Romantic atmosphere, cool decor. There was no wow factor to the cheese fondue for the price paid. Cooking our own entree was fun...but if I'm going to cook it myself, don't charge me what I'd pay for an expert to do it. The chocolate fondue was good, but I expected better. I'll give it another chance at some point.
