It was during Sundance Film Festival week of 2018 very busy time and our reservation was for 6 pm. We were not served until 8 pm...and our server 's only answer was sorry, we 're busy . Food was good, but I 'd recommend avoiding Sea Salt during busy times they can 't handle the crowd.
We arrived 2 hours and 15 minutes before a show at Abravell Hall. After an hour and 45 minutes we left after having been served just some appetizers and salads. The waiter was told very early on that despite having a lot of time, we were still on a schedule. It took at least 25 minutes just for a drink. I’ve been to Sea Salt many times. Thinking back the service was always slow. But I’ve since gone back and read reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor. Sea Salt has a very large percentage of negative reviews, many complaining about the service. The manager treated us like he didn’t care that we left without ever getting our entrees. Way too many restaurants that actually do care. I will never darken the doors to a Sea Salt again. Ever.
We had a 6:45 reservation and arrived on time. Seated quickly. Had been told we HAD to try the cauliflower appetizer; they had already run out. Server also informed us that there was no ravioli as well. Really? At 6:45 in an Italian restaurant? So we order focaccia and it was served cold, yuk. My husband ordered gnocchi and it had so little gnocchi and SO much cheese that he thought we were in a cheap Mexican restaurant. I ordered the saltinbocca and the prosciutto was over done; the veal was tasteless, and the bed of linguine was swimming in a tasteless sauce which was really greasy. I guess you can understand why I gave this restaurant such a poor rating. Way overpriced for the quality of food. Have told many people do not go there.
Modern and sleek decor with up scale vibe. Service attentive but needs training in wine list and wine service. Extensive menu with good selection of vegetarian options but our dishes were bland and uninspired in their preparation. Wine list offers a nice selection of sparkling, white, red, aperitifs, and digestifs from all over Italy and excellent selection of by the glass offerings providing an opportunity to sample a nice variety of Italian wines. Do not expect much help from the staff in selecting a wine. Overall satisfactory experience with some very nice wines and attentive staff but uninspiring food.
Sea Salt has a vibrant atmosphere. The food is reliably good. Service is good.
