We for lunch during their Chilles y nogada festival. The service, food and atmosphere was 10+. Service was second to none. The chilles y nogada were to die for. Everything was top notch. The only thing we point out as an issue was we were seated next to the kitchen. So note to self, make sure you get a better seat. Other than that, it was fabulous and will definitely return.
We have come to this restaurant a few times and it keeps on giving. All the recipes seem to be a version of a Mexican dish but really neat, with a great spin and since I am Mexican they all feel something to be proud of. I have ordered “escamoles in tuetano” (ant’s pupae on top of an open bone marrow) and they are a delicacy. The taste is buttery and nutty, with the best texture. They give you hot tortilla and salsas to enjoy it. We ordered the “cabrito” (baby goat) and was done really good since it feels it was done for hours, soft, tasty and with an adorable smell. The soup of mushrooms was just ok for my taste, a bit light, almost felt like the soup was made apart from the mushrooms. The fried tortilla they give you to taste the salsas and the smooth cheese at the beginning are great, sounds simple but I must emphasize that they are one the best I’ve ever had. The “chile en hojaldre” was excellent and the tomato dressing gave it such a nice note that I wanted to go for more. In another occasion we tried the “chile en nogada” and was really special since all the Mexican flavors are there but they all are delicate, with great smell, amazing presentation and good service. In general, I am really happy with this place. In my opinion, it takes Mexican food to the next level… bravo!
From the moment you walk in, this restaurant displays all of the national and international awards they have won. Once you experience their cuisine, you realize why they have won so many awards. Truly one of Saltillo's best upscale restaurants. A must visit when in Saltillo.
I heard it was a great place to eat and I wasn’t disappointed. I had tortilla soup, Cabrera-stuffed chiles, frivolities and hand made tortillas. I also enjoyed the salsa mojacajetezada on the table with goat cheese. Juan de la Cruz was my server par excellence! I hope I can come back to Saltillo again just to eat here. I had a chat with another staff member who told me they recently opened a restaurant in Texas using the same recipes and vibe. Definitely worth checking it out. No plans for opening in Canada yet. My preference is speaking Spanish but the have English menus too.
