Feedback gevenReally impressed with this place. It has a very charming setting.Food was great. Server was nice. Prices were reasonable for the quality received.My only two recommendations would be the following :1. Make the menu more accessible and add a little pizzazz to it. It seemed like they didn't have enough print outs to accomodate the amount of people try to decide. Also my wife noticed the descriptions of the food didn't do much justice for what you actually got. We saw a photo of the greek salad after we ordered and ended up ordering one to go?.2. Think about maybe downsizing the pimento cheese balls. The baseball size of our app was a little overwhelming, would have rathered them smaller and crispier.Other than that keep rocking Root 121.
Ordered out the first time and the food was pretty good. Ordered the second time a few weeks later and it was average at best. Wife and daughter visited and ate at the restaurant and it was average. Was giving this restaurant one last chance with my daughter and waited awhile just to place a drink order. It was more than 10 minutes. You could tell that the staff was short and the employees working seemed stressed. You could hear the conversation between wait staff and kitchen staff. There was a lot of focus on one larger group in the restaurant and everyone else had to wait. Finally decided to leave when I felt it would take way longer than necessary to be served and I didn’t feel like staying at a restaurant that was overwhelmed. I always try to give all of my business to mom and pop businesses but sometimes they can shoot themselves in the foot and my family is not hard to please. It’s sad because Saluda needs more options when it comes to local dining.
This is our lunch stop when the British Car Club travels between Charleston and Lake Lure. We all look forward to it. Great sandwiches and service. No problem handling the 17 of us.
Out of almost everything we wanted to order. AND...didn't know it until each time we ordered.Why wouldn't someone fill in the waitress as to what has been 86'd?Then... side was hot; Entrée was not even lukewarm. Sending it back would have meant it woulda been over-cooked.Alas... what we felt started out as something with great potential has seemingly been mismanaged to the point that it feels broken.Sad...First few times we went it was great!Now... prices have seemed to up significantly for less portions/options.They aren't the type of place you'd expect to drop 33.55+ tip for 2 dinners with just water.I corrected the amount.The server tried...absolutely !She was visibly embarrassed and to the issues left unresolved, there was nothing she could do and we didn't want her feeling any worse.Just like now, you're unhappy about my feedback and for that I apologize.I do wish y'all well.
My BLT was delicious! Fast service and very friendly staff member. I’ll come back by if I have another job site in the area.
