The experience of the factory tour is amazing and nostalgic given the number of years we've seen the amul ads the tour is informative, experiential and fills in pride of what has been achieved. Capturing market share from Polson farms before independence is quite a stride and as a cooperative society, it's no less than a freedom struggle. Pro tip: The tour starts at 2pm only and there's ample parking. You will not be let in before 2pm but there's Amul Foodland right outside in case you reach early or need to grab a bite before the tour.
It's the wonderful place with beautiful surroundings. I would suggest the school and college going students should be visiting this place at least once. The visitors can visit during 2 p.m to 4 p.m on any day. It's inside out cleanest. The tour starts at 2pm with batches of visitors and a prior booking helps. you can see the butter and milk powder mixing packing. It's well managed and very good facility parking, bathrooms selfie stand..They'll show you how it started the dairy , contribution of late Dr. Verghese Kurien ;by visiting one museum inside the factory, one of must watch thing. You can get to buy all the products including chocolates , different types of milks, even you can have the other things like fast food , Punjabi food ,south indian food etc etc outside their official Store at AMUL FOODLAND.. Pro tip: tour takes 45mins, you can complete the diary chocolate factory visit in one afternoon. Plan appropriately.
I had the opportunity to visit this plant when I got a couple of hours off in my days trip to Anand. When in Anand, this is a must to visit. Had the opportunity to work on a case study on Amul, and decided to have this experience. The milk silos first up will give the glimpse of the legacy it carries. If one haven't seen milk processing before, the factory tour is a must. It is free of cost, visit hours somewhere in the afternoon with ID proof to be checked at the main gate. The main gate is also complimented by an exclusive Amul restaurant, with dairy parlors inside as well. The fully automated 24hrs planet and its functioning of incoming, outgoing and processing lakhs of litres of milk is mesmerising.
Amul is one of the largest Milk producer of India and this plant marks one of the important plant in its history. People are allowed to visit this plant by pre-booking on Amul's website and uploading id-proof. Id proof checking is also done at gate. It's a gigantic place to see processing of Milk, manufacturing of milk powder and butter. Instructor explains the history of Amul and gives a tour visit to some parts of plant.
