I was sitting right next to my wife and I could not hear here speak. Many tables ringed the room and had views of the golf course. When we asked for one of those tables, the manager paused, because they were set for breakfast he relented and moved us however. The food was terrible, I ordered the wedge salad, which was drowned in some generic bottle dressing, and the vegetarian mixed grill. The vegetarian mixed grill was a few pieces of unseasoned squash on a skewer with a side of mayonnaise not the chimichuri sauce that was advertised. My wife ordered something that came with uncooked noodles, and my friends ordered the duck tacos but the duck was so hard he couldn 't stick his fork through it. When we ordered dessert we were told they were out of cheesecake... it 's Saturday night Restaurant week, and cheesecake is on their Restaurant week menu, and they were out of it? I ordered a trio of Haagen Daz ice cream, of the four flavors I chose vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. Later she came back and told me they were out of vanilla. It 's Saturday night Restaurant week and vanilla ice cream comes on four of their deserts, how could they be out. It 's freaking Haagen Daz, not homemade. She asked, Do you want two chocolate and one strawberry? I said No, I 'll have two strawberry and one chocolate. She came back later and said, Did you say you wanted two chocolate and one strawberry? I said, No, I want two strawberry and one chocolate. I got two choclate and one strawberry.
When we received our entrée, the food was lukewarm. During our dining, a bug flew onto my plate and I addressed this to the waiter and he said he would get me another plate without any apology. I ordered the half rack of lamb, medium rare, and received it rare. The veges were not warm enough. I would not
It was our first time to this restaurant. It is part of the Double Tree/Karlan Hotel in Carmel Mtn. We live in Rancho Bernardo and we're looking for a close by restaurant for the middle of week San Diego Restaurant Week special and were very pleased with the service and food. This restaurant has been recently renovated as has the hotel. It was very quiet with mainly hotel guest but I believe that it can become a jewel if the word gets out. The general manager stopped by for quick chat and mentioned the improvements that were taking place. I would recommend this place to all who would listen. By the way, the lobster bisque was excellent, actually had chucks of lobster in it. We will go back another time and try their regular menu.
A Good Happy Hour was had by all on the new outdoor Patio!
Saw a sign advertising a Mother's Day Brunch and since it was close to home we decided to give it a try. It exceeded our expectations for price, quality, selection of food, friendly/professional staff and overall comfort. The staff was very attentive and the whole thing just worked out well.
