My friend and I came down to see what saint Josephine was about. It is a very friendly family type of environment, and the kitchen is open which is really nice to see the cooks work their magic. Our waitress was really nice. I got the chicken fried steak with gravy and a side of broccoli and it was delicious. This chicken fried steak was very tender gravy was not too thick. It could have used just a tad bit more thought but overall it was very good and the broccoli was cooked perfectly and it also had a hint of lemon which was nice. My friend had the sausage and cheese queso which was a little interesting when we got it at the table. It had slices of sausage and sauteed onions on the top of chips and then the little side of queso. It was not too bad. The spinach artichoke dip was very good as well could have been cooked a little bit longer for the cheese to melt all the way but other than that it was pretty good. We would definitely come back and visit.
Took my Dad to have lunch for his birthday. Got to the restaurant an hour after opening, and the server was so nice to place 2 tables together to accommodate my nephews baby in his car seat. Food came out pretty quickly, and oh, so good. The server was very nice and attentive. If in the area, Josephine is a must even if there is a wait.
Went around 8:30 on a Wednesday got seated immediately. Service was fast steaks were pretty good.
The location is near the Pearl District. The building is old. Food always great.
