Pre theater dining at Sauce on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was not even full and service was still slow. Food quality was not especially good and portions small. Crab cake appetizer dish came out with three crab cakes half dollar size with a side of kale/carrot salad. At least the cakes were mostly crab meat and little fillers. I had the prosciutto wrapped rockfish entree which was not very special with little flavor.
We were one of the first one’s seated at 5pm, party of three. We had to make a show so we made early reservations. Waiter did not take our order promptly. Took over 45 minutes to get our food. Salmon, rock fish chicken cutlet. Mulitple tables seated after us were served their entrees gone by the time we were served. My husband had to literally go to the kitchen and ask what happened to our food since the waiter dismissed him when he tried to get his attention. This was after a party of six was served before us that had some of the same dishes we ordered but were seated at least 15 minutes after us. Food was over priced and nothing special. Fish was over cooked, poutine looked as though it was micro waved and everything was luke warm. Service was horrible. Will definitely not return!
Sad to see this place close, but so glad we did it again last time. drive from the half island for the departure. eating is still as tasty as ever and enjoyed my favorite dessert, pb
Sauce was great as usual! it's too bad that this jewel closes. we will miss you!
