Honestly I don't like posting negative reviews. Restaurants are a livelihood, and this place in particular is an institution, but since a request to review...
I have a sentimental attachment to restaurants that have been around for a long time, and Trader Vic’s definitely fits that description. The island atmosphere reminds me of Hawaii, and the menu offers upscale versions of local, Chinese, and Japanese dishes. The cocktails, such as the Blue Hawaiian and Mai Tais, are still deliciously strong. Although I don’t visit as often as I used to, I still come for special occasions like Father’s Day or Mother’s Day. While prices can be on the higher side, it’s worth it for a special occasion. The service is top-notch, and valet parking is available.
The food did not live up to the hype and the service was very slow in taking our order.
