I had heard of Alamo BBQ from Restaurant Week but only got to visit recently. We love it for the casual outdoor atmosphere. My husband and I got the happy hour margarita which was good. We ordered 1 pound of the peach-glazed baby back ribs, 1/2 pound beef brisket, 1/2 smoked turkey, 1 smoked sausage, a pint of creamed corn, potato salad and cole slaw to share between my Dad, husband and myself. It was a lot of delicious food. We were definitely bringing leftovers home. Definitely good barbecue but the turkey could've been a little more moist.
Good sandwiches, excellent service! I wish the Brisket was more tender. There's a playground outside, so it's good for bringing your kids to run around
We enjoyed Alamo on a Saturday evening. They had a nice live band playing great music. All the dishes were very good. Probably I would not order the beans- too sweet for me. Al he rest was top notch
The BBQ at this restaurant is fantastic. I highly suggest trying the Big Tex Sandwich, which comes with everything except for the beans (but you can order those as a side). The staff members were outstanding and very friendly. The establishment also has a spacious kids' playground, making it a great spot for families. It's definitely a positive addition to the Government Hill neighborhood.
