If I could rate 0 stars I would, Poor customer service from the start. Drive thru employees didn't seem trained in their position, got our Large Family order incorrect had us park in the front as they finished the order. Although we got handed the bag with our sides and bread, there was no meats whatsoever. Lastly, I patiently waited inside for about 20 minutes as other cars came and went getting their orders before the Assistant Manager reluctantly handed my food to me. Management under Humberto needs to be revised as overall service and attitude was disappointing.

Food is great, service is fantastic! The only is, please Bill Miller's, place an umbrella or some sort of coverage over the employee taking orders outside. Specially when is around noon. Everything else is great!!!

My wife and I were out and about running errands today. It was a little early for dinner, but would be too late to defrost anything by the time we got home. I mentioned that I had wanted to try the chicken fried steak at Bill Miller's and my wife said she had been thinking the same thing. So, on an impulse we stopped in at this Bill Miller's, which is our closest one, and the one we have used since the late 1980's.Before I talk about the chicken fried steak, let me quickly mention the restaurant itself. When my children were young, this was our goto fast food place. I detest most fast food burger places. If my kids had that, we stopped across the street and got Bill Miller's for me. But, if we went as a family to Bill Miller's, there was always something everyone liked.For over 36 years, I have continued to visit here whenever I needed a quick meal, a bowl of hot soup, or craved fried chicken. Bill Miller's fried chicken is my favorite. I was raised on it back in the day when we walked up to a window and ordered it over on Military Drive. It has changed a little bit since the old days, but it still tastes the same. In all of those 36 years, I have never had any issues. They have always gotten my order perfectly correct. The food was always good. It has always been a trustworthy venue for inexpensive, fast, and delicious food. On top of that, the service is always great. Man, do those kids hustle in there! I would never be able to keep up.Now, hearing all of that, let's march up to today. I love chicken fried steak. I have probably had it at more than 100 places over the years. I have learned that, in order for me to like it, it has to meet some standards. 1) The meat has to be tenderized steak- not ground beef. 2) The breading has to be crispy. 3) The breading has to adhere to the meat and NEVER come off like a glove. 4) The meat has to be thicker than the coating on it. 5) Finally, it has to be served with cream gravy- NEVER brown. Those are my standards. Nobody has to agree with them. Some of my friends have raved over giant platter sized chicken fried steaks that I thought were absolutely terrible. No... You can not win this fat man over with a giant portion, unless the giant portion meets my standards.I will be honest, I did not expect Bill Miller's to meet my standards. But, I have to tell you I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken fried steak I ate today met all of my standards. For a very low price, I got a human-sized steak with gravy, french fries, those wonderful Bill Miller's savory green beans, a roll, and a large iced tea. The bill for both of our meals was less than I paid to eat lunch at a Chinese restaurant a few days ago- by myself!I don't have to tell you that I will be back here. It is a decade's-long habit that is not likely to be broken. I am hoping to try their turkey plate this year, too. But, the normal menu suits me fine.If I have to force myself to find something to complain about to Bill Miller's, it would be this: Bring back the brown bread! My favorite meal from Bill Miller's used to be a quart of beef soup (no rice- yech) and a loaf of brown bread.

For the information of all hand's, this particular Bill Miller's located Bandera and Guilbeau is exceptional. I stop by at least twice a week, order a 2-piece fried chicken (wings only) with a portion of there mouth awakening, sour cole slaw and the food has always been hot, golden and delicious. To change it up a bit, i ordered the six chops, and again, super packed and just a wonderful experience. I have been to other BM's in the area, and this location is #1 in my book. I drive thru between 1600 and 1800hrs and maybe the team is ready and that is the happy time to visit. Keep up the great job.
