Cowboy Sushi Cafe - San Antonio

I visited cowboy sushi because of a groupon deal and am really happy I did. I love the concept and the food was delicious. It provided a great option for my wife, who is not a classical sushi fan, and me. My wife ordered the Roy Roger's which is cooked roast beef in a roll and enjoyed it. I got their spicy crab, spicy tuna, and brisket rolls; all fantastic, the menu has an art for mixing flavors.

Unique concept for a sushi restaurant. If you got someone with you who is not a sushi eater or never tried it before the nontraditional Western concepts maybe good for them and you can still have your own traditional sushi rolls. Unique items like the Fried Dill Pickle Roll (pictured) with pimento cheese and dill pickle inside is a very unique starter, but really good if you like fried pickles. The Annie Oakley Roll is a good roll with spicy tuna. And you'll find desserts here unlike other sushi places. The Cinnamon bread pudding was huge and very good.

Visited this place on a Wednesday. Went at lunchtime, not very busy. Service was fast but can't attest to how it would be during a busier time. I prefer cooked sushi rolls and the menu had a pleasant variety. I tried the Rio Grand roll and it was to die for. My mom tried the John Wayne so I tasted that too. This one had beef, very cool twist and I loved it. I also recommend the edamame. The spicy and barbecue flavors are delicious!!! I will definitely be a repeat visitor!!

Took my wife and a few close friends Saturday night for dinner and drinks. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!! LOVED the food. Very unique. We had various chef created sushi items as well as the signature Cowboy Sushi rolls. We ate probably 10 rolls! We had a buffalo chicken roll with bleu cheese, pulled pork rolls, brisket rolls as well as some delicious fish and shrimp rolls. I went back Sunday and ordered more rolls to go and some special BBQ edamame. We LOVED IT! They have a VERY cool specialty cocktail menu as well. We had a Bluebonnet Blueberry Mule which was full of fresh fruit while we watched football on the MANY big screen TVs they had. They also have a cool outside patio with sportsgrass and games. This place is gonna be on my regular 'to go ' list!

Super fresh fish! This place puts an innovative touch on sushi. Friendly staff and decent pricing. A new and delightful experience for any sushi lover.
