Oh and by the way, the food was good. I didn't have a drink, but the drinks looked like fire. Shoutout our waitress was super nice. Tell them Andy sent you and you'd get a discount. Thank you.
From here stopped from total coincidence, I saw the sign for the restaurant several days back on the way to a duty to work, and on the way to another sushi place several days later, I saw it again and decided to stop here! I'm so glad! This will be my place for sushi. We have the wild goji signature roll, lava roll, shrimp appetizer, wild Bao appetizer, and a few drinks (I tried the cherry blossom and the cucumber martini). Service was amazing, drinks were good, and the food was exceptional. 10/10!!! I also saw their happy hour menu and they have some great offers on drinks and food. I'll be back soon!!
To be honest, you would not expect this quality from the stripe center outside. The interior of Wild Goji is dark and intimate. Unlike many sushi spots, the kitchen is thrown into the back with only one window through the busy chefs. The menu is interesting and full of surprises. We started with a Singapore Sling and Cherry Blossom drinks, both strong, but a little sweet, and some savory Bao Buns dominated with pigs belly and hoisin. The sushi was above average head and shoulders. I had the signature and my gal ordered a lava roll, both excellent. We wanted more so jumped for the Shrimp appetizer with Coconut, almost a dessert with a hint of sweet and spicy. I'll be here every time the sushi claw strikes. I love it!
Really good food. Had the sweet potato roll and the vegan roll and both were delicious. Your menu has many vegan friendly options. This is definitely a repetition for me and my family.
Our go-to spot for decent sushi in San Antonio so far. My partner and I have tried a number of different sushi restaurants in the area, but none have compared to Wild Goji. Made an impromptu visit recently and was not disappointed. Upon entering there is a sign that states please wait to be seated. There is usually no host at the entrance despite having a podium present. Still, we are seated quickly. From the entrance you can see the sushi bar towards the back. The left side has a full service bar. It is an open concept layout with ample seating. The wall towards the front has specials written on a blackboard. There is a wall with a wine rack built in, however, it looks more like an eyesore. When you sit down, there is a QR code on the table to access the menu. I am happy they have clear vegetarian options for the sushi rolls. I ordered the vegan roll and a sweet potato roll. The vegan roll consists of cucumber, avocado, oshinko, and asparagus. I had requested the sweet potato roll with cream cheese. The rolls were presented nicely and tasted delicious. To drink I usually order the Summer Dream Martini which is Malibu, peach Schnapp, simple syrup, pineapple juice, and strawberries. Each time it 's always delicious and refreshing. My partner loved her order which was the hot house sake, Wild Goji Signature roll, and the Iku Iku roll. Overall I have a positive experience each time we visit and will likely return in the future.
