The pizza was delicious, but the cookie was terrible; it was frozen.
I’m not sure why I decided to give this restaurant another shot, but at least my review is based on two separate orders. Unfortunately, the pizza is only mediocre at best. I could barely taste any sauce on it, the cheese was quite sparse, and the toppings were just okay. Also, I really dislike the "brownie cut," especially on an oval pizza. It leaves you with a box full of crust scraps and a bunch of soggy center pieces that are impossible to pick up. Someone mentioned that the mozzarella sticks were flavorless but abundant, and I have to agree with that. The pretzels were good, and I enjoyed the salad too.
The pizzas were overcooked (for instance, the pepperonis were burned) and were delivered cold, even though the distance from the restaurant was short. Having grown up in Ohio enjoying the original Donatos pizza, I was hoping for a nostalgic experience, but unfortunately, it fell short. While it somewhat resembled the Donatos I remember, the taste was not quite the same. The sausage had a deep-fried quality that was unexpected, and the pepperoni pizza lacked the thin layer of Parmesan I anticipated. Additionally, the presentation of the veggie pizza was underwhelming and appeared to be haphazardly assembled. The pizzas themselves were small—too large to be considered personal pizzas but too small to adequately feed two people. Overall, while the pizza was decent, it lacked the delightful flavors I recalled and didn't measure up to the nearby alternatives.
