Great place to eat in San Carlos, the prices are higher than i expected but the quality makes it worth it. They made me spaghetti with cheese sauce and mushrooms and boy was it delicious. I have to come here again before my vacation is over and from now on anytime i come to San Carlos i will drop in for some delicious food. Don't miss out, this place is a gem.
We had a great lunch. The kids loved the animals who were exposed in cages. The owner of the place was sitting at a table but didn't say a word to us. Luckily he's wife was more polite . We followed the address through Google maps but the restaurant was not located at that place. After asking many times we could find it. The prices on the menus are not the same as they expose on the blackboard. If I asked them why the lady of the house said it's there already for long time but they didn't changed it yet
The waitress gave us 4 menus with different prices on 3 of them. Can't really read the prices, as several of the menus have tape with blurry writing indicating the new, higher prices. We ordered the pepperoni pizza for 325, sadly there were sardines on it and we were charged 395. I picked off the sardines to the best of my ability but the flavor still leaked into the cheese. There is no german beer and there is no wine list or drinks menu. After the pricing fiasco with the food menu, I felt the waitress was making up the wine bottle prices as she saw fit. Sadly, la grotta is still a decent option in the food desert known as San Carlos.
When in San Carlos, a must visit place to experience authentic Italian dishes, forgot to tell my friends when we visited last time to try their parma ham pizza, my favorite. Sorry for the photo, will take better photos next time we visit.
