I ultimately decided on the Spicy Pork Ramen with Tonkotsu broth, and I can honestly say it was the best ramen I've ever tasted. The portion sizes are incredibly generous, allowing me to take enough home for dinner later. My kids love the Garlic Noodles, and I've started ordering two servings of Edamame to enjoy as snacks at home. The Ramen Cafe not only offers fantastic food, but they also have an extensive tea selection, as well as reasonably priced beer and wine. I had the pleasure of meeting Elly, the owner, who made my experience even more enjoyable. Her team clearly loves their work, which really enhances the overall atmosphere. Thank you, Elly, for the exceptional customer service, the inviting environment, and for giving me a reason to crave ramen every day!
I absolutely adore this charming ramen restaurant! The ramen was delicious, and the ingredients were incredibly fresh. My son enjoyed the OG Tonkotsu ramen, while I had the vegetarian gluten-free option, and we were both very impressed! We highly recommend this place! It's conveniently located in the San Clemente Old Town Plaza, just down the street from the pier. The atmosphere is super cute, the staff is extremely friendly, and they offer both indoor and outdoor seating, along with great food and wine selections. I would have shared a photo of my son’s OG Tonkotsu, but he devoured it before I had the chance!
Well, three strikes and you're out. Tonight was the third time in a row that I was turned away from getting ramen because I arrived within an hour of closing. Poke 808, located on Del Mar near South Swell, offers much better service. I've been coming to this place since it first opened, and it really disappoints me how poor the service has become, especially since it's the same person every time.
I tried to give this restaurant a second chance since I thought perhaps they had an off day the first time we tried their ramen when one of us was sickened by one of the ramen dishes, and that they had charged an exorbitant $25 corkage fee for a bottle of wine our friend brought for dinner. I am Japanese, and I hate giving bad reviews, but the ramen does not taste authentic. They don 't even carry the traditional togarashi that usually is offered in a Japanese ramen restaurant. I 'm not sure why there are many good reviews, but this is an establishment that we will not return for good, authentic ramen. I am giving one star for the friendly service.
First time my husband and I tried their the food was amazing. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was just chill. Great for rainy nights or just any night
