Feedback gevenSelf explanatory, this place offers authentic Thai dishes with a mix of regional and imported ingredients. Having spent a few weeks in Thailand, this place is the best Thai food you're gonna find on this continent. Highly suggest you try the Yellow curry and the Lemongrass chicken soup.
Was not looking for thai food in a trip to Mexico, but being a hardcore fan I had to try! I've always thought you can measure a thai restaurant based on its tom yam, and this guys have it figured out!!! Didn't escape from hot spicy food in Mexico, but here is of the thai kind. Nice place!!!
We ordered pad thai, a tom yum soup and a green curry dishes. There were very good. For some reason the service was slow even though there were many waiters and the restaurant was only half full. The restaurant is located inside a modern plaza called San Augustin close to the center of town.
We've eaten here several times and have always been delighted. Service was great and the food served in a timely fashion. The 12 hour slow cooked tamarind ribs were exquisite and fell off the bone, you won't be disappointed. Portions are ample and the atmosphere is casual but classy.
Great Place, Great Setting, I really enjoyed it, a LOT!The FoodChicken SoupThis soup for me was amazing (I'll try to be unbiased with my review), this soup was extremely different from any I had before (I love soups, all kinds), before I start I must say there is an uncommon flavor on this so I am not sure if I can recommend it as I don't think it is "general tasting soup".The soup has coconut milk (or cream) and lemon grass, this makes for a unique taste, the more soup I had the more I enjoyed it. It is called chicken soup but believe me, the chicken is the least important of the ingredients, in comes with cilantro and carrots and if you go there I would definitely advice to get it.Phad Thai with SeafoodThe Phad Thai is great, though I think there great Phad Thais at many places, that being said I really liked this after my soup, not one flavor was overwhelming making all the ingredients the protagonists of the dish, great combination of flavors.Sealed TunaThe tuna was good, but I don't think it makes a winner, I mean I've had sealed tuna before just as good, nothing out of this world, however they give 3 sauces to try it with and here is were ti excels from others mixing it with the sauces redefines the flavor and gives you something different to try.Service was good but a bit slow due to the fullness of the restaurant. Bangcook is located inside Esquina de San Agustín which is a place with a great setting, and many places to choose from. If you want dessert don't forget to go to the Oh La La, best dessert in San Cristobal by far (is just in the corner).
