Boll Weevil Restaurants - San Diego

It was only 12:50 when I arrived, and the atmosphere was quite peaceful. The four TVs were playing at a low volume, which added to the comfort of the space. The restaurant was about one-third full, making it a cozy spot to enjoy a meal.

I’m giving one star for their support of local live music. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. The food wasn't worth the price; I would have preferred having fries instead.

Every four months or so I get a craving for a Chili Size burger at Boll Weevil restaurant. Nothing else will do. It's an open faced half puns burger with chili, Amerucan cheese and chopped onions in the side, (which I liberally throw on). Then I hit it with a delicate squeeze of Ketchup. Boll Weevil never gets it wrong. It's always perfect, which is more than I can say about 99 percent if the restaurants I go to. I place a high value in consistency of food quality and service at restaurants. If I go to a restaurant five times and four of the times the food is very good and the fifth time it's below average, it's not a place I look forward to frequenting in the near future. That's one of the reasons I keep going back to Boll Weevil for their chili size burger. It's the only thing I ever order there, so I can't speak for their other entrees.

I haven't been in years. There's definitely a reason we kept going for as long as I can remember. Those burgers are the best! We went with a group of 20 people and the server took on my family like a pro. With humor and patience.

I've always been a HUGE fan of Boll Weevils and was sorry so many had closed (National City San Marcos CA). On this visit, had my usual Super Cheese Burger still the best burger around, bar none!! Great burger joint menu our group of 8 had excellent service!
