Buca Di Beppo - San Diego

When I’m at Buca, I always think of sitting in a huge room with a bunch of family yattering in my ear. I love it. The clang of the plates, the size of the portrions and the overall quality of the food. It’s excellent. The Mozzarella Bread always makes my mouth water and the pastas are spectacular. So pull up a chair and bring your entire family. Buca is definitley a good place to go!

The atmosphere at buca never gets old…or boring for that matter. there’s always something “interesting” to look at while you’re eating or in the bathroom. I was somewhat disapointed with this buca in comparison to the one downtown however. i noticed that their pasta is very watery. also, i believe that the word rich doesn’t even begin to explain how their food tastes. it’s a little too rich. appetizers are good…as with most restaurants i start with calamari and i know only a handful of restaurants that don’t know how to make good calamari. luckily this place isn’t one of them. as for dishes, i do enjoy their linguini frutti di mare…the shrimp, mussels and calamari mixed with pasta and their marinara sauce is pretty good. I also appreciate their servings in proportion to their price. they give enormous servings. So if anything, buca is great for large groups.
