Cafe De L' Opera - San Diego

Oh my goodness! This place has the most delicious pastries!! The egg sandwich on a croissant was amazing! Blueberry cheese croissant was amazing! Americano coffee was delicious! Staff were wonderful! Will be back! Oh, and we bought more pastries to go!

They put the level of French bakery very high in San Diego. We tried several pastries and their breakfast sandwiches. The almonds croissants is just amazing, good balance of almond dough, not too sweet and the entire croissant is warm and crunchy. I finally found a place where the Coffee taste naturally like it should be. Btw, je suis français , feeling kind of super objective here

This is a wonderful little cafe in the East Village neighborhood of downtown San Diego, an area where parking is difficult but not too expensive. I'll typically go there on a Sunday and get a regular coffee their coffee is far better than what I get at Starbucks or Peet's and an almond croissant and a sandwich or panini, typically ham and swiss or something similar. I've only been here few times, but every time the coffee, the pastry, and the sandwich were excellent, and it's a nice environment, although the outdoor seating is simply a few small tables on the sidewalk. I have only one real complaint with Café de l'Opéra, and that's that the place closes way too early, around 3:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m.

Been visiting San Diego from Chicago for a week with my boyfriend, and we needed a good coffee to start our day and keep us moving with the time change. Stopped by this cute little cafe right near Petco Park, and the barista (I don’t know her name but she was the absolute sweetest) made my boyfriend and I the best coffee we have had all trip. I have a caffeine intolerance, and being able to have decaf espresso is the only thing I can tolerate. She made two of the best Vietnamese Iced Espressos I’ve ever had. Definitely a favorite and will be back next time we visit

Best croissants in town! Many delicious pastries, sandwiches, organic coffee. Customer service is excellent and prices great. Coffee is a medium roast (I prefer light), but still smooth and good quality. Loved the game and cheese croissant sandwich! Will be back
