Filippi's Pizza Grotto - San Diego

Saved our birthday party when the other restaurant we were at failed us. Great pizza.

Wonderful family friendly place. Great prices, especially in this recession and all the servers are very hospitable. Would definitely recommend for a family gathering.

Planning from 1,700 miles away was surprisingly smooth, thanks to their excellent communication. The value, cozy atmosphere, and delightful food here are unmatched in the area. For appetizers, we chose wings, bruschetta, and mozzarella sticks. For the main course, we served meatballs, fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp or chicken, and plenty of salad with various toppings. To top it all off, we provided a selection of cannoli and cakes for dessert. Parking was also a breeze for our guests. We are so grateful to the team for making this a memorable start to our wedding weekend!

This restaurant is quite famous, but it really doesn't measure up to others in the area. I ordered garlic breadsticks, but the server seemed confused by my request. She brought me some over-toasted butter bread that was quite unpleasant. The pizza was decent, and the calzone was just okay. There was a time when this place was really amazing.

The atmosphere was fantastic, and the food was exceptional, as usual. The service was very pleasant as well.
