It's good casual spot for a meal: a combination of a sports bar and restaurant with music and windows open most of the time. There's usually a long line but I came at around 1:30 and managed to get a seat for lunch. They have a great lunch special for taco Tuesday and Thursday: you get an Asian style pork belly taco (a bao taco fusion) along with the pho. The bao taco was great nice fluffy bread, plenty of filling and a delicious sauce/dressing. I went with their OB Special (x large) pho and it was excellent. As the name implies, it's a very large portion: I ended up taking some to go. If you want a large lunch/dinnner, this dish is for you. The brisket and tripe were especially was excellent and they give you plenty of meat. The broth was also rich and flavorful and not too salty.
AMAZING believe the hype, and believe the long lines! It's that good.... It really is worth it, I like that it's a mix between restaurant and sports bar. I like that its an open restaurant, because it does get packed. They also have a back patio as well, and the music they play is such a vibe, 10/10 recommend!
As a local in OB, I love visiting one of my favorite spots, whether it's after a long day of work in the industry or on my day off. It pains me to have to write this, but I feel the need to share my recent experience. My girlfriend and I always order the same items whenever we visit a dozen wings, house fried rice without eggs, and a bowl of pho. The food has always been top notch, with no complaints. However, our last visit was different in a way that we couldn't ignore. I understand that sitting outside means encountering bugs, but the roach that was dangerously close to our food was not just any roach. It was the type you typically find indoors the small yet big ones. I discreetly disposed of it, then informed our server without causing a scene. Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I lost our appetite at that point. Although our server apologized and comped a couple of drinks, it felt like the issue was brushed off. In situations like this, addressing the food quality would have been more appropriate. We took our food to go out of courtesy but decided to make the most of our date night by ordering more rounds. I believe that constructive feedback is necessary for improvement. If issues aren't addressed, nothing will change.
Great casual dinner spot in San Diego. Super fun party music (it is a bit loud in there, I liked it but worthy to note if you're noise sensitive). The chicken teriyaki was DELICIOUS! Normally I feel like teriyaki chicken is quite mediocre, but this was something that I would order again and again. I did not order the fried rice but tried another member of the dining party's food and it was too oily for my taste, so I'd skip on that. The party also really enjoyed the garlic wings! Service was fast and friendly! The drinks were also delicious, I got the BDE and really enjoyed it. Overall quick, fun, and yummy.
Came here to have lunch with a friend. I ordered pho with rare steak and well done brisket. She ordered the spring rolls and the sizzling fish. The pho was pretty decent, definitely warmed me up on a cold day and unlike pho restaurants, there's only one bowl size. My friend wasn't a fan of the spring rolls but thought her fish was good. Also didn't know that asking for a little bit more limes was an extra charge as I didn't see that on the menu nor was told that by our server. I know this place is known for their wings though so might have to try that next time i decide to stop by.
