Meechai Thai Cuisine - San Diego

Food is mediocre at best and owner asked for an 18% tip for takeout despite not giving utensils, cutlery, or really doing anything... Veggies tasted old, not a lot of noodles, not a lot of flavorFood: 1/5

I really don't like doing this to a small mom and pop...gave it a chance even though it was dead empty at dinner time...but dang, the black fingernails while serving my food just made me wanna vomit. Nice couple but it's a the least Thai tasting food Ive ever had. Tom kha wasn't spicy, just felt like a hole in the wall in the hole in the wall.The tip thing was hilarious. Automatically asked so 20 or 25% tip? I said no, do 18...and I'm being kind.

OMG the tom yum soup here is FANTASTIC! It comes with actual lemongrass, kaffi lime leaves and all the great flavors to elevate this from an ordinary soup to a stellar culinary experience. I'll definitely visit again to try more things on the menu.

The best tom kha!! Also everything else me and my friend ordered was amazing! Thank you so much for a wonderful meal! The restuarant was very cute and decorated beautiful Claming and tranquil vibes with the waterfountain.

The Tom yum really hit the spot. Great flavor and lovely customer service from Janet. Will return for sure.
