It was late at night and we still wanted to experience some authentic Italian food during our visit to San Diego. We were glad that this restaurant was available. We were hoping the reviews were wrong about the sauce flavor but unfortunately they were right. It was bland and too acidic? We had the 1/2 ravioli and spaghetti, spaghetti with sausage and garlic bread (which was on the hard side). Maybe that is how authentic Italian sauce is suppose to taste. We had to add the salt, Parmesan cheese and the container of spice to make it better. We were hungry, we love Italian food so we ate it. But there was nothing remarkable so disappointed from that end.
TravelBug Everywhere was in San Diego and noticed the restaurant while driving past in little Italy. Was able to walk there from our hotel. Very authentic looking inside, attractive, booths and tables. Adjacent was an Italian deli. Busy with takeaways from the restaurant and deli. We shared cheesy garlic bread (excellent) and enjoyed the salads and soup. Between us, we had ravioli, chicken Alfredo, pizza and lasagna. All tasted home made with real care and well presented. Plenty of food, great service and a reasonable price. Would highly recommend this restaurant for good honest Italian food.
The market has a small urban feel to it, like any typical Italian market in a city. Tight quarters especially near lunchtime. The deli counter is very popular.A decent variety of Italian products, in small quantities, but at least it has things to choose from.In the San Diego area, this seems to be the best option.
Good Italian restaurant situated in Little Italy restaurant strip of San Diego. We ordered a pizza and some pastas. The pizza was good. Pasta was so so. Compared to some other very expensive restaurants on the strip, this restaurant has a family vibe and the prices are reasonable as well.
