Tienda De Reyes - San Diego

Stopped for a margarita whilst exploring San Diego. I had a 'special ' one and my husband had the house which was pre made. If you go please do not get the pre made, mine was so so nice, prob the best margarita I have had in a long time. Nothing wrong with house just nowhere near as good.

The sampler appetizer is great, more than enough for two to enjoy.

I had a very nice meal at Casa de Reyes. The layout of the outside seating is very nice and the propane heaters everywhere are much needed in the winter months. I went in January and made sure we got a table right next to one. The food itself is amazing, the flavors are unmatched. I would recommend getting the carnitas platter or anything with fish. The drinks are delicious as well and I would go back again just for the La Riviera Maya. There is a stage with seating before you walk in and they often have live music and bands there which only add to the ambiance. Little stores surround the restaurant. Whether it is souvenirs, clothing, desserts, churros, or even olive oil, there is something for everyone. I can’t wait to come back!

Given the location and atmosphere of Casa de Reyes, I had high expectations for the food. Unfortunately, it was so-so. The carne asada was salty, and there was a rock in my daughter's beans. The salsa was excellent, though.
