I recommend the spicy baked salmon if they like spicy feeds. the Serrano-Pfeffer had a nice kick. the ex-girlfriend roller was good, not as good as the spicy baked salmon roller, but still good. also had the stuffed jalapeño appetizer, it had a nice tie with a delicate taste. very well balanced with taste and fresh. also had lachs nigiri, I always get this at any sushi place I'm going to, and asked that it's supposed to be nice and buttery. it was definitely one of the tops I had. it was perfectly martyred and the laugh was a really good size. I'm coming back in a definitiw! P.s I randomly craved miso soup and her was surprisingly really good. Mostly the mistsuppet from other places are dirty and seems like water with hardly anything in it. their had a beautiful balance of tofu, seeweed and whatever other goodies they put in. my wife didn't want one and after she tried to ate mine they almost all the cache hahaha
This is a relatively new sushi restaurant. I must say that the food is phenomenal and one of the best I have tasted as far as sushi and lunch bowls go. However, I lowered the rank because I had such a terrible service experience. There were three groups of people that came in after me that ended up ordering and receiving their meals before I could even order. I had to call for my server to get their attention and ask for water, and when I finally ordered, I didn't receive my full meal. I had to get their attention again to get my full meal. It turned out they never made part of my meal. I did watch how they went around to the other tables to check on how they were doing and refilling their water cups, etc., but they never once checked on me. The restaurant was not busy at that time either (they looked to be less than half capacity with patrons, maybe 5-6 tables including mine being served) and they had two servers. The establishment is not big. Most of the customers that arrived after me ended up leaving before I finished my meal. If it were not for the horrible service, I would have rated this place five stars.
As soon as this place opened, it was packed. For a good reason, the sushi is superb quality and delicious! The employees were very attentive and polite. I will definitely be back for the sushi, but now that I know they have ramen and curry, I'll have to sample those as well
I love this place! Toro nigiri and spicy baked salmon rolls posted here. I usually NEVER do baked rolls (I'm a handroll and nigiri guy), but this was fantastic.
I really wanted to like this place. We consider ourselves a Sushi family. We're the people that know every single great Sushi in every town we frequent. We're the people that took Sushi classes and host frequent Sushi parties. We absolutely cherish Sushi nights. Seeing a new Sushi place come up right next to our home was very exciting, as there aren't all that many restaurants within walking distance to the renaissance. What a giant disappointment this place is. The rice was cold and hard, none of the fish was very fresh (We ended up sending the scallops back to the kitchen....We NEVER send food back). The chefs even managed to screw up the baked sushi. The service was good, the Garlic edamame was good as was the Ginger....spicy and crunchy, but everything, and I mean EVERYTHING else was food-poisoning quality. You just need to avoid this place altogether. Hand to God, even in a pinch you're better off going to the supermarket and getting a pack of boxed sushi. I'm sure the owners are really nice people and I'm sure they mean well....I'm also sure they shouldn't be in the sushi business.
