Hunan House - San Francisco

We ordered Kung Pao chicken and pork fried rice, and both dishes were excellent! The service was outstanding, and the staff were very friendly. We will definitely return!

The food was incredible! My whole family loved it. Although the dishes took a bit longer to arrive than at most restaurants, they were definitely worth the wait. Kid-friendliness: They were very accommodating with my son's special requests, like having the sauce on the side and no veggies, which we really appreciated.

Great value for the price! The menu offers a wide range of options, all packed with delicious flavors. The staff is extremely helpful as well.

A mix of Americanized Chinese food and authentic on the menu. However, the prices are kind of high and portions kind of small. They have a forced service charge here as well which I dislike. They had some bad singing on a Sunday night on the second floor as well.

We visited this place during our road trip to San Francisco with a thought that this place might be a good choice since it’s not easy to make authentic Hunan food. It was stem winding, really, along with their quick serving and perfect seasoning. We only ordered two dishes, Mapo tofu and sweet and sour pork due to low attendance, however, those two dishes were very tasty for eating rice with. I have been Hunan so I know what I’m talking about. Also it’s shocking that the owner is actually from Hong Kong.
