However, the live music in such a small venue can be quite problematic if you're hoping for a quiet conversation. The food is flavorful, though it is slightly pricier than anticipated.
My wife is Brazilian, so we have a pretty good understanding of Brazilian cuisine and its flavors. Overall, Minas did a good job. I ordered the Bife Acebolada, a ribeye cut, and my wife had the traditional feijoada. The only issue I had with my dish was that the ribeye was a bit undercooked—somewhere between rare and medium-rare. However, the feijoada was excellent. The restaurant itself is small and narrow, but it has a nice atmosphere. It was a bit odd that there wasn’t a host to greet us at the entrance; instead, we were met by a server. Overall, it’s a cozy place for some comforting Brazilian dining.
We traveled from Mountain View to San Francisco, and the traffic was awful. We had trouble finding parking and ended up almost an hour late. Unfortunately, they had closed our table 30 minutes prior to our arrival. I had my two children with me, and we were left standing for an hour, despite having an empty table right next to us. They didn't even allow the children to sit down and rest. Eventually, they moved some friends to the empty table and seated us where they had been.
A wonderful Brazilian restaurant in the hayes valley area of sf has finally closed its doors on Saturday, 3rd november. a real loss in town and neighbor!
Very impressed with the food. Our seafood dinner served in a pineapple was very good. All the dishes being served to people around us looked very interesting.
