The street (Calle 59) is closed to traffic and the restaurants have there tables set up along the road. La Choperia is close to the old city wall so it makes for a very pleasant scene at night, plus you get a cooling sea breeze if there is one. The food was good and the service was very good, attentive without being pushy. Prices are reasonable but they do have good happy hour offers. 1 litre beers for 39 Pesos when I was there. There are numerous restaurants in this section of town but this one was always the busiest. Says something.
We stopped for a margarita one evening and enjoyed the drinks as well as the food. Drinks are generouswith the tequila, so be careful. Efficient service, fair pricing, noisy and full of people having a good time. We decided to stay and have dinner since the hamburgers looked great and we were not disappointed. The bun was a little to soft but the meat had a great texture and flavor, something which can be hit or miss in Mexico at times. Good french fries, crisp and with seasoning salt. Nice place to relax after a day of sightseeing.
