We called a table in the late afternoon. they had a place for happiness. we didn't know what to do but were so pleasantly surprised. the atmosphere, the wine, the food and the host john lucca. you have to go here to find out what we did!
We were twice guests in the trattoria and never disappointed. they can see and feel his passion for eating and gas friendship in general. his wine recommendations, where great and offered excellent value for the price. there were also delicious options for eating vegetarian. When we came the second time, we brought friends. we trust blindly in his suggestion for the dishes and it was fantastic. thanks for these two unforgettable evenings!
Lunch here is an epic if you are prepared and give time over to relaxing and enjoying the food, the cool surroundings and the wonderful host. He is enthusiastic, welcoming and warm. Don’t expect a menu because there isn’t one. He will explain what is...available and take care if you are vegetarian or have allergies etc. Small dishes mean quite large ones in UK terms. But the food is wonderful, prepared beautifully and served with care. Not expensive either. Workmen, tourists, local village folk (and apparently the occasional famous person) all mix in together. Don’t be put off on arrival. The place does not look smart and the caffe bar downstairs looks very local. Head up to the first floor. Let the host set the menu and just enjoy. Great experience.
This was one of the best, if not the best restaurant experiences of my life. The owner greeted us in the most friendly way, he treated us with a glass of sparkling wine as soon as we were seated. He sat down at the table...with us to welcome us and ask what we wanted to have for starters. After the amazing starters had arrived he consulted us about the pasta dishes. The pasta was absurdly good, especially the truffle pasta. When the pasta arrived at the table he also brought or bottles of wine for us to try, so that we could decide what to drink alongside the pasta. The owner really knows everything about sparkling wine, and non sparkling aswell! When finished we ordered one of the tastiest cappuccinos in Italy! Higly recommended to go for a glass in the bar below before this outstanding dinner!
