Bacalhau Grill Trade Rite Market

I visited this establishment to buy some dry salted cod (Bacalhau) for a recipe and was pleased to find it in stock. This place is not only a restaurant—though I haven't dined there yet—but also features a large market area filled with Portuguese and Brazilian products. They have a great selection of fresh meats, a variety of sausages and cheeses in the cooler sections, a small frozen section, and plenty of dry and canned goods. I was able to find everything I needed and more! The staff was very friendly and offered assistance whenever I needed it. I look forward to returning and trying the food from the restaurant side as well!

I visited for lunch on a weekday and found ample parking alongside the building. The friendly staff welcomed me and the service was relatively quick, with my food being brought to the table promptly. Unfortunately, the chicken burger was disappointing and didn't stand out compared to offerings from other restaurants. Maybe I should have opted for the sausage instead. Food rating: 3/5.

I enjoyed the picanha with yucca root and also picked up some items from their market. It's a fantastic spot to watch soccer games. Food rating: 5/5.

The go to place for authentic Portuguese food and OMG the Pastel de nata is heaven. Grocery store heaven with lots of wine to choose from and goodies you only see in Portugal but they have them in store : .. friendly people always smiling. Plenty of parking and you can enter on the parking lot side for the restaurant or on Alumrock side. You need to order the pastel de nata ahead if you need a few. The make them fresh : . Wanted to give this place good Yelp and finally got time now to say thank you for the great food and wine and goodies. If your food is not to your liking just let them know and they will address it.

I’ve been to this place 4 times already. The food is delicious and the staff is super friendly. It feels like a part of Brazil inside of San Jose. I super recommend Bacalhau Grill!
