I wouldn't be able to find the names of the delicious dishes I had the opportunity to try, but believe me, it was amazing and delicious. If I could summarize in a few words Malaysian cuisine: it is a cuisine halfway between Indian and Chinese, with peanuts, coconuts, and more (I think my description is very unpleasant). Definitely worth trying if you happen to be in the area.
There is often a line before you can eat, but the wait is worth it. I wouldn't be able to name the delicious dishes I had the chance to try, but trust me, it was surprising and delicious! If I could summarize Malaysian cuisine in a few words: it is a blend of Indian and Chinese flavors, with peanuts, coconut, and more. A must-try if you're in the area.
Over the past few years, five different restaurants have occupied this building, but none have been as successful as Layang Layang, the current tenants. Their unique and delicious Malaysian cuisine has quickly made them a popular choice among diners.
As another reviewer noted, Layang Layang is situated in a unique location - a standalone former house along a busy road with no other restaurants nearby. It's no surprise that many restaurants have come and gone in this spot over the years. However, Layang Layang has managed to thrive for a number of years, thanks to its excellent food quality. The restaurant's setting in a former house gives it a cozy atmosphere. Service may be a bit slow but is friendly. The real standout here is the diverse and delicious food on offer. With few Malaysian restaurants in the area, I will definitely return in the future for more of their tasty and spicy Malaysian cuisine.
As for the food, I had never tried Malaysian cuisine before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. To me, it seemed like a combination of Thai and Chinese food, with a unique twist. The Princess Tofu and Roti Canai were delicious and worth trying. However, I did not enjoy the Pearl Mee dish, although one of my friends really liked it. The service was decent, nothing exceptional but nothing to complain about either. Overall, I found the Malaysian food at Layang Layang to be good, but it didn't leave a lasting impression on me. It's worth trying at least once if you're in the area, but it didn't leave me craving for more after two months of eating there.
