Miyakko Japanese Cuisine - San Jose

I was disappointed with the nigiri deluxe I ordered to go for a late-night sushi craving. The rice wasn’t fully cooked on all the nigiris, which was frustrating. This is usually my go-to sushi restaurant, so I was pretty let down. However, it's still the best value sushi place in South San Jose! I feel fortunate to live right by this restaurant. I always order my favorite chirashi deluxe to go, and it always tastes delicious!

Went to this place a three time since COVID and every time food quality and freshness is a consistent disappointment. My last order here had Cherry Blossom roll and tuna on that roll had dry crust... definitely issues with freshness and not an isolated thing based on my experience.Food: 1/5

To start, we ordered the tempura vegetables appetizer, which was simply outstanding. The veggies were perfectly crispy and full of flavor, making for a delightful beginning to our meal. Being a fan of fresh oysters, I couldn’t resist trying them here, and they completely surpassed my expectations! They were incredibly fresh and became the highlight of my afternoon. For the main course, I chose the chirashi and BBQ Rolls. Both dishes were bursting with flavor and left me craving more. The chirashi featured a delightful assortment of fresh fish and sushi rice, beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. The BBQ Rolls were a fantastic blend of flavors, with every bite delivering deliciousness. The service during my visit was exceptional. Our waiter was attentive and ensured we had everything we needed. The food arrived quickly, and I was impressed by how efficiently it was served. The only small downside was the lighting in the restaurant, which was a bit dim, making it slightly challenging to see the food clearly. However, this minor issue didn’t detract from the overall fantastic dining experience. In conclusion, this is a wonderful restaurant with genuinely delicious food. The tempura veggies, fresh oysters, chirashi, and BBQ Rolls were all standout dishes from my meal. The attentive service and speedy food delivery further enhanced the positive experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a delightful dining experience, though do be prepared for the slightly dim lighting.

My friend and I discovered this charming little restaurant and decided to stop by for lunch. When we arrived, it was quite empty, but soon more tables filled up. The interior is small and cute. Our server was friendly, although he was a bit slow since he was the only one on staff. I ordered an iced green tea, which was very refreshing. For my main dish, I chose the roll combo that included miso soup, a salad, and two rolls. I went with the California roll and the spider roll, which were both delicious and just the right amount for me. There were so many tempting options on the menu, and I will definitely return to try more.

I was quite impressed by the presentation, quick service and helpfulness of the staff. Miso soup had a great umami flavor of shrimp stock and the beef soup was sweet and savory.Food: 5/5
