Once Upon A Dosa - San Jose

I'm honestly baffled by how this trendy dish came to be. How did dosa end up on a waffle iron topped with fresh greens and curry? It doesn't quite add up, but I'm not complaining because it's absolutely delicious! I do have a few suggestions, though. I would love to see more options for the type of dosa batter, like moong bean or Madras-style. Additionally, a thinner dosa would be great to help cut down on carbs. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal, and I'm thrilled to have a place near work that accommodates my food sensitivities and preferences. I would definitely recommend it!

It's a cloud kitchen with a slow service. The average order takes about 30 minutes to prepare. However, the food tastes great, so it's definitely worth a try!

The concept is novel, but the execution is severely lacking, leaving me quite disappointed. I ordered the masala podi dosa, and the food did not taste fresh at all. It was served with wilted greens that looked quite sad and were placed on top of a reheated base. There was no option to have the wilted greens on the side, which would have helped. The most frustrating part is that they seem unsure of their aim: are they trying to create something delicious, or are they focused solely on health? It feels more like a product that came from an MBA program rather than a thoughtfully prepared dish. Ultimately, it was a waste of money.

The food was delicious and an interesting application on dosa. not enough to distract from the small portion size for a quite expensive meal. I asked about things, but didn't get one. Because it's a cloud kitchen, there's no one I can talk to from the restaurant, but the recipe gave me a series of dinosaurs and a fork that is enough to eat a waffel, I think? Tl;dr: tasty eating, full-service menu but taste the half of the part and no service. I'll fit.

What a great find! Waffle dosai idea is wonderful ...well executed, tasted fresh and clean! Rooting for this restaurant to become a hit! Packaging was great!
